Construction of a footbridge on the Sola river
One of the investments within the SMART ŻYWIEC - (r)evolution project is a walking - bike path together with a footbridge construction. The contractor for the construction works is MOSTMARPAL Ltd company from Zarzecze.
Construction of the footbridge began on 21th of August, when the site needed for its implementation was handed over. Work is currently underway to assemble the structure parts and paths building . The whole process is proceeding according to plan, without any delays.
The main goal of this project is pedestrian and cycle tourism development in the City. An important aspect of the project is also connection of Sporysz district on south-east with Zabłocie district on the west. This will allow all citizens to travel comfortably between these two points. The investment will also improve access to Żywiec Amphitheatre at Grojec, where various cultural events take place.
The construction of a footbridge on the Soła River is one of the many development points for Żywiec City. In addition to this, parts of walking – bike paths are also being built. They will improve transport, but also encourage citizens to embrace healthy lifestyles through cycling. The project also includes installation of bicycle racks and bike services, benches and trash cans at designated locations. In selected points video surveillance cameras and lighting powered by renewable energy will be installed.
