From 6th till  8th of September this year, young people from Żywiec City and Żywiec County participated in great workshops. The event was organized by Paramus Association within the 'SMART ŻYWIEC - (r)evolution' program.

During the workshops, participants were introduced to the concept of volunteering, learned about the basic legal aspects, types of volunteering, volunteering in the area of tourism. In addition, the participants learned what the profession of a tourist guide is about and what documents are needed to work in this profession. The young people had an opportunity to learn about the working forms as a tourist guides and genera principles of this job.

The main point of the workshop was a discussion about guidebook "I’m guiding around Żywiec and its  surroundings ", which was published, as part of the project, by project partner: Paramus Association. On the basis of this guide young people learnt about the beauty of our town and received unique information about culture and local tradition.

The workshops were runned by Magdalena Maciejko, Dariusz Piotrowski, Andrzej Szewczyk and Anna Zięba. The classes were held in two blocks. First one was theoretical classes. Workshop leaders introduced the subject of volunteering and provided a variety of interesting facts about tourist guide passions.
In the second block, each of the guides led the young people along routes they’ve planned, showing interesting aspects of the history of Żywiec City and whole region. These were often places not included in the general tourist guides available on the internet.
The project is a part of the project entitled 'SMART ŻYWIEC - (r)evolution', funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.
